I couldn’t be more thrilled that one of my first ventures into this world of Professional Development is with Seattle University and one of my favorite people on the planet, distinguished teacher, Sean Patch. Together we’ll be leading a day-long workshop on Project-Based Learning.

When done right, Project-Based Learning (PBL) creates opportunities for all students to acquire content knowledge, think critically and hone real-word skills. Research consistently supports PBL as an ideal strategy to decrease the Achievement Gap and increase the educational value for students in Special Education as well as English Language Learners.

This workshop, designed for both beginning and established teachers, focuses both on the student learning experience (expanding, integrating and enhancing PBL) and on mitigating the logistical obstacles to PBL (time constraints, collaboration challenges and limited resources).
